BLACK-NECKED STILT

I photographed this black-necked stilt flying over a saline lagoon on Isabella, the largest of the Galapagos Islands. It was late afternoon and although the light was quite nice, the subject seemed to lend itself to monochrome conversion. There is just enough texture in the water to make a pleasing, but not distracting, background.
