BLUE-FOOTED BOOBY DIVING

Half the world's population of blue-footed boobies nests on the Galapagos Islands. They are consummate fishers, plunge diving at great speed into the ocean. I tracked this booby using autofocus, a very fast shutter speed and quick reactions. Fortunately as it dived, the bird turned so that its spread wings were parallel to the back of my camera, putting it all in focus, and its trademark sky-blue feet were visible.
