Kennet and Avon Canal in Winter

Vegetation along the banks of the Kennett and Avon Canal at Great Bedwyn was hoar-frosted on this bitterly cold December morning. The sun has not yet risen and the softly pink dawn sky is reflected in the mirror-like waters of the canal. The wintery feel is enhanced by the plume of smoke rising from one of the narrow boats, beside which stands a solitary figure.
