MESA ARCH
Mesa Arch in Canyonlands National Park (Utah) is located above an east-facing sandstone cliff. For a few minutes each morning, reddened light from the rising sun is reflected from the cliff onto the underside of the arch, giving the impression it is on fire. The vista of Green River Canyon through the arch is a striking backdrop, giving depth to the image. I included a little of the sky to provide colour contrast and show the form of the arch.
