THE WATCHMAN
The Watchman is a distinctive mountain on the east side of Utah's Zion Canyon. I had photographed it from this easily reached viewpoint on a previous visit - the shooting position is the side of a road bridge over the Virgin River. The combination of snow, last rays of sunlight catching the mountain's western face and wisps of cloud in the sky lift the image a little above the ordinary.
