BRYCE AMPHITHEATRE
The amphitheatre in Bryce Canyon National Park (Utah) is an other-worldly landscape. Hoodoos are pillars of sandstone formed by freeze/thaw weathering in a high-altitude desert. The amphitheatre faces east so I made this image just before sunrise. The nearest hoodoo is lit by light from the brightest part of the sky reflected off the wall of sandstone behind me.
