ARCTIC TERN WITH FISH
A more traditional bird image, this arctic tern was sat peacefully on railings as I headed for the last boat of the day from Inner Farne. The afternoon sun was showing its plumage well, putting a catchlight in its eye (important for a black eye surrounded by black feathers) and reflecting highlights on the captured sand eel. I did not want to show the railings so I went for a close-up portrait using a telephoto lens.
