Milky Way and Perseid Meteor

Milky Way and Perseid Meteor over Portland Bill on the final evening of my Milky Way and Jurassic Coast Photography Tour. This image is the result of stacking 20 frames each of 20 seconds at F/2 and ISO 6400 for the sky, plus one frame of 8 minutes at F/2.8 and ISO 1600 for the foreground. In this way I was able to capture detail in the Milky Way whilst reducing digital noise and ensure sharp focus in the foreground together with detail in shadows, again with reduced digital noise. The meteor was captured on a 8 second exposure at F/2 and ISO 6400. The finished image shows all the elements as I saw them, with their relative positions in the frame unchanged. This tour will run again next year.
