Brown Hairstreak

Brown hairstreaks are one of our most enigmatic and sought-after British butterflies. I found this male feeding on wild parsnip on the edge of Salisbury Plain. Careful positioning enabled a background of soft-focus wild parsnip, which created an unusual colour combination. 180mm macro lens at F/11.
