ELEPHANT SEAL AND TUSSACBIRD

I was amused by the juxtaposition of the tiny tussac bird foraging for insects around a huge southern elephant seal, which was trying to sleep. I waited until the pair were nose-to-beak to create this image. To emphasise the texture of the elephant seal's wrinkled skin, I converted it to monochrome.
