IMPERIAL SHAG IN FLIGHT

I photographed this imperial shag coming into land late in the day at a large nesting colony on Pebble Island. Low evening sun has illuminated the underside and brought out good feather detail in both dark and pale plumage. I like the sky-blue eye ring of these birds.
