CHILEAN FLAMINGOES

The bird reserve of Laguna Nimez is adjacent to the huge Lago Argentino in Argentinean Patagonia. It was an overcast New Year’s Day, which suited this abstraction of Chilean flamingoes (Phoenicopterus chilensis), 17 asleep and one awake. To get sufficient separation between the birds I ascended a ladder to the top of a bird hide from where I was able to use a 400mm lens plus 1.4x teleconverter.
