CADAIR IDRIS

Dusted by winter snow, Cadair Idris is the most impressive mountain in southern Snowdonia. I photographed it from the west, with afternoon sun glancing down the slopes and dark clouds over the peaks. A short telephoto lens has compressed perspective, enabling dry stone walls in the foreground to form leading lines, giving scale to the mountain.
