NEWHAVEN LIGHTHOUSE

The final winter storm of 2014 tracked over southern England early on 15 February. I travelled to Sussex where (in contrast to further west) high tide occurred in mid-morning, during daylight hours. Although I positioned myself well back from the sea to photograph Newhaven lighthouse with a 400mm telephoto, I was facing directly into the wind and had to clean sea spray from my lens every couple of minutes as I waited for a big wave to break.
