ELGOL BEACH

Elgol on the Isle of Skye has a spectacular view across Loch Scavaig to the Black Cuillin mountains. This classic composition, framed by jagged rocks, features an almost perfectly spherical boulder as a foreground eye-catcher. The tide was not high enough to wet the rocks at the time of my visit but by waiting until after sunset, the rocks have taken on a slightly lustrous quality under a gorgeous pink sky.
