SANDSTORM, NAMIB DESERT
The huge sand dunes of the Tsauchab river valley in Namibia are formed by a prevailing westerly wind. On the few days a year that an easterly wind blows, it sends sand tumbling down the western face of the dunes. As the rising sun glances down this western slope, it caught the swirling sand for a few minutes, making an image rich in texture.
