RED SKY OVER BLACK CUILLIN

The view of the Black Cuillin from Elgol Beach on Skye is a classic. I like the striated pattern in the limestone outcrop on the right of this composition, whilst a jumble of boulders on the beach provides foreground texture. Having set up, I waited for an hour until sunset brought gorgeous tones to the clouds over the mountains. A shutter speed of 1.3 seconds has smoothed out waves on the sea enough to reflect a hint of pink.
