JURASSIC COAST

This 180 degree panorama of Durdle Door and Man O' War is made from 36 images stitched together. All were taken using a panoramic tripod head, allowing rotation around the nodal point of the lens to ensure perfect alignment. I captured each part of the image at three different exposures to retain detail in land, sea and sky. Bright sunshine would have given too much contrast so an overcast sky is necessary to make the image work. I enjoy the symmetry of the two bays and the sense of a familiar scene as it cannot be seen by the eye in a single field of view.

F/20, 12 overlapping frames of three exposures at 0.3, 1/13th and 1/50th second combined using PTGui and Photomatix, ISO 100
Accepted: Juror Panorama (Austria) 2014
