DURDLE DOOR
An overcast November day seemed to hold little promise for photography but I went to Durdle Door for sunset, just in case. As I arrived, the clouds began to break up. The tide was low enough that I could scramble onto a small rock ledge that is usually underwater, to capture an unusual angle on the rock arch. I used a graduated neutral density filter to hold detail in the sky. A long shutter speed has rendered the sea smooth and shown movement in the clouds.
