CANOEISTS IN PORLOCK MARSH

In 1996 the sea broke through a shingle barrier beach at Porlock, killing trees in a former orchard and creating a saltmarsh. On high spring tides the marsh floods. In August the sun is just visible setting over the sea, coinciding with high tides. On the occasion of this visit two canoeists paddled past a few minutes before sunset.
