BREAKING WAVE AT CLEVEDON PIER
Britain's only intact Grade 1 listed pier is exposed to prevailing south-westerly winds and waves propagating up the Severn Estuary. Spring high tides at this location coincide with sunset, allowing waves to break well up the shore when there is good colour in the sky. On this breezy March day, the sun is setting well to the left of the pier, its soft light reflected from both the ironwork and the breaking wave. I had to increase ISO in order to get sufficient depth of field for the pier and a fast enough shutter speed for the wave.
