COURTING GANNETS
Bass Rock, in the Firth of Forth, has the world's largest nesting colony of northern gannets (Sula bassana). These two are engaged in a pair-bonding ritual of beak touching and sky pointing. A predominantly overcast day lent itself to making a high key image, with the gannets' plumage almost blending into the sky beyond.
