FIVE-SPOT BURNET MOTHS MATING

Burnet moths fly during the daytime, relying on their bold colouration to warn predators they are toxic. To photograph this mating pair I positioned my camera so that the sensor was parallel to the plane of both moths, ensured there was no distracting vegetation in the background and stopped down to f/11 for sufficient depth of field. There was a little breeze blowing so a high ISO and shutter speed were needed to avoid motion blur.
