Norfolk Aurora

Aurora borealis over Burnham Overy Staithe on the North Norfolk coast. This was one of the strongest aurora displays across Britain for around 20 years. The aurora was clearly visible to the eye but the camera has captured its gorgeous colour as charged particles from the sun penetrate Earth’s atmosphere. I chose this location in the hope of getting a reflection and was not disappointed. However the tide was flowing and the boat moved slightly during my 20-second exposure.
