STONEHENGE UNDER THE STARS
Stonehenge makes a great subject for night-time photography with stars as background. I took this shot by arrangement with English Heritage as part of an assignment for Wiltshire Magazine. I made thirty 30 second exposures to show star trails caused by earth's rotation over 15 minutes and painted the stones by torchlight while my camera shutter was open. Although Salisbury Plain is one of the darkest areas of southern England, using high ISO has registered light pollution from Larkhill behind the stones.
F/6.3, thirty 30 second exposures assembled in Photoshop, ISO 2500
