JAGUAR, HUNTING

This old, battle-scarred jaguar is known to Pantanal biologists as "Mick Jaguar". Despite appearing to be blind in one eye, he remains a formidable capybara hunter. I made this image during the passage of a cold weather front, which resulted in jaguars becoming much more active by day. Although overcast lighting is flat, it has produced well saturated colours.
