AGGRESSIVE SOUTHERN ELEPHANT SEAL

I crouched down to get an eye level portrait of this southern elephant seal using my wide angle lens to emphasise his large proboscis. As I pressed the shutter, the elephant seal decided I was too close and lunged at me. It is quite difficult to make a rapid escape backwards from a crouching position!
