Mist in Vale of Pewsey

I was walking down Martinsell Hill after a sunrise shoot across a sea of mist in the Vale of Pewsey when I noticed the potential for this shot. I used a short telephoto lens to abstract detail from the landscape. A pleasing juxtaposition of trees visible through backlit mist is brought to life by raking light from the just-risen sun. I particularly like the cottage with smoke drifting from its chimney on a cold morning. Sometimes the image I end up taking is different from and better than the one I planned.
