FLY AGARIC

Thanks to their brightly patterned caps, fly agarics are everyone's favourite toadstool. This particularly statuesque specimen at Spye Park in Wiltshire invited photography. It was an overcast day and I used a reflector plus a small torch to shine directional light onto the toadstool. In order to ensure a diffuse background I set a wide aperture of F/5. To get the whole fly agaric sharp I made 11 different frames at different points of focus and combined them using Helicon Focus stacking software.

11 frames at F/5, 2 seconds, ISO 100, focus stacked
