RIVER BRATHAY IN WINTER

After heavy overnight snowfall, I made my way along the River Brathay at first light under an overcast sky. Every twig, branch and tree was etched in fresh snow. I passed a group of hardy Herdwick sheep, which can be seen in the background of this image. As I reached the bend of the river and turned to look back, the pre-dawn sky lit up in pastel orange, perfectly reflected in the river. Right place, right time, a truly serendipitous image.
