GREAT STAPLE TOR

Great Staple Tor is one of the most striking and accessible of Dartmoor's granite tors. I like this shooting location, showing its twin pillars well-placed in the frame. Menacing clouds parted for a few minutes to give some crepuscular rays beside the more distant pillar. I made three exposures at different shutter speeds to capture the full dynamic range of the scene, fully revealed when they are combined in processing.
