COLD MOUNTAIN HARE

This mountain hare had largely moulted its winter coat by the time of heavy early April snowfall, making it relatively easy to see. The hare, however, seemed to think it was invisible as it made no attempt to flee when I approached. Hunkered down with ears flattened, it seemed to be more concerned with keeping warm.
