STARLINGS AT SUNSET

During the winter months, millions of starlings roost in the Somerset Levels. I have visited many times, but on this particular evening they performed a spectacular display, forming huge fluid shapes as the sun was setting. Photographing the fast-moving spectacle is challenging as it occurs when the daylight is fading, requiring a wide aperture together with a careful balance between shutter speed and ISO.
