LITTLE OWL

This little owl was nesting in a disused farm house in Wiltshire. I photographed it from an adjacent hide as it visited perches behind which mealworms were hidden. This portrait benefits from warm early morning light on the owl's plumage. I preserved image quality by keeping ISO low and supporting my lens on a beanbag, enabling me to get away with quite a slow shutter speed.
