GLANVILLE FRITILLARIES MATING

Until recently, the only place in the British Isles to find Glanville fritillaries was the Isle of Wight. There is now a thriving colony in Wiltshire’s Cranbourne Chase. I found this mating pair on an overcast day, which provided plenty of time to get my tripod into position and ensure both butterflies were sharp from head to wing-tip.
