DOWNY EMERALD
I photographed this gorgeous early-season dragonfly in late May as it hovered over a pond on the edge of ancient woodland in Wiltshire. I sat down and waited for the emerald to come and have a look at me, giving me the chance to get focus locked onto its amazing green eyes.
