COMMON BLUE BUTTERLIES MATING

I found this mating pair at West Yatton Down in Wiltshire on an August afternoon. I had to get my camera into position on its tripod so that the butterflies were exactly parallel to the camera sensor and the background was diffuse. That took some time but fortunately the butterflies were too preoccupied to fly away.
