Cathedral Cavern

Cathedral Cavern in Little Langdale Quarries is entirely artificial, the result of slate mining. A huge pillar of unquarried rock supports the roof. A 30-second exposure using daylight filtering into the chamber brings out subtle colours in the green slate. Including a person is the best way of conveying its scale.
