THREE GALAXIES
The three galaxies in this image are the Milky Way, within which we live, and its two satellite galaxies, the Large and Small Magellanic Clouds. Deep in the southern hemisphere sky, the Magellanic Clouds are never visible from Europe. I composed with the silhouettes of quiver trees and dolerite rocks framing the galaxies.
