AURORA, GRUNDARFJORDUR

My best-ever Northern Lights display was at Grundarfjordur on Iceland's Snæfellsnes peninsula, under the light of a gibbous Moon. The aurora danced across the sky in all directions, making it tricky to find an optimum position. I like the way the aurora appears to rise from the mountain in this image and the juxtaposition with a solitary house in the foreground. As the lights were moving so fast, I was working with a shutter speed of just two seconds to get an acceptably sharp image.
